Sony Xperia Z: a Quad-core waterproof smartphone with 13 MP camera Xperia Z is a new Quad-core phone by Sony. Unlike other smartphones, this one will not go out of order even if you drop it into a toilet or pool for a couple seconds by accident, though it is not completely water-resistant.
Xperia Z features a powerful Snapdragon S4 quad-core Pro CPU and a 5 inches 1080p display screen. The handset is 7.9 mm thick and is made of a pair of sturdy and tempered glass slabs.
You can turn on its intelli-auto and facial-recognition features to take sharp photos easily. Of course, it has flash also, so you can take photos at night as well. The pictures will be so good that you will not even feel that they were taken at night.
Another good thing about this smartphone is that it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean; however, it doesn’t support Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Aside from these features, the phone also offers a “stamina” mode. By turning this feature on, you can increase standby time by 4 folds. In this mode, the phone actually closes down power-hungry apps when its screen is off and starts them again when the display screen lightens up again.
Lastly, Xperia Z also comes with the latest NFC technology, which is short for near-field communication.

The release date of the handset in the US has not been announced yet. According to official reports, however, the phone will be released globally in the beginning months of 2013. So, at least we know that Sony is going to make it available soon.
