Coast Teen Helps Design Safety Tracking App

Cassandra Markus, a teen, felt so unsafe on the Gold Coast that she created a free smartphone safety application with the help of her father in order to let her family members know about her location.

I was in search of an app that could alert my friends and family to my whereabouts and keep tabs on me when I am on the move, especially at night, she said. The app will give parents peace of mind, as they will be able to track the location of their kids.

The app lets you track the location of a smartphone in real time, her father said. I want my daughter to have the application on standby mode for her next trip, he added.

The app took around 5 months to be developed. You do not need to create an account or give personal information in order to use this app.

Mr. Markus is going to upgrade the safety app in the near future. The new version will be able to alert the authorities as well.

If you are in search of an app that could allow your family members to keep tabs on you and track your location, then try out the My Safety Alert app today.
